Getting Started: How to Use

The Sight and Sound Reading program was created in the hope of helping all children learn to read.  As such, we have tried to create a website that teaches children to read for free.    Additionally, we do have resources available that go along with the program that you can inexpensively purchase in the store.  These resources can be used by individuals at home or in a classroom setting.
When your child is reading-ready, visit this site each day (or, when you can!) to watch the instructional video, and follow along with the reading. After you have tested your child's reading readiness, you can begin the program where the child is ready to begin.  Next to each day below is information about the skill that is learned that day.  (So, for Day 1, the words Good, Morning are learned).
The blog archive also contains links to each Day, in order -with the Day 1 appearing at the top.

Also, please note, our youtube channel has all of our daily videos, as well as phonics videos, and extra videos (word ladders, etc).  All videos will eventually be posted on this site-but, if you have a struggling reader who needs to start the program in the middle- you can find the videos you need on youtube.  We are constantly adding new videos to youtube.
