Word Ladders and Handbook Teachers use Word Ladders to teach and reinforce letter patterns and rhyming, through writing and repetition. This document contains 53 word ladders, as well as word riddles and questions for each word ladder to help strengthen vocabulary development. The riddles and questions encourage children to think about the meaning of the words, as they use them in learning to read. The word ladders will help children eliminate phonetic frustration, and help build their phonics skills, spelling confidence and self esteem.
Teaching Alphabet and Teachers Manual (Digital Copy) Teaching the alphabet is easy with Mrs. Karle's Sight and Sound Reading Alphabet. This alphabet highlights the upper case letters, the lower case letters, the vowels, and the printed/type font. For instance, Mrs. Karle's alphabet highlights the three different types of "g"s that frequently confuse children, and teach the children that even though they look differently, they all sound (and are) the same. Flashcards(Digital Copy) Flashcards for the 354 sight words used in the Sight and Sound Reading Program. The numbers at the bottom of the flashcards correspond to the day the word is introduced in the Sight and Sound Reading Program. Also included are flashcards for alphabet letters -color coded for vowels. Use the alphabet flashcards to quiz students on both the letters and the sounds.
